Reverend Teneé Jones is a passionate woman focused on fulfilling the call on her life to create space that cultivates God’s presence and love,
while also engaging and encouraging youth on their personal journey and development.
As a Harlem native, Teneé came to Christ at a young age. Being active in the Saint Luke Baptist Church under the direction of the Late Reverend
Dr. J.G. McCann Sr., she learned of the warmth and impact of a community founded in Christ and culture that could cultivate one’s growth and journey. Her favorite scripture, Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” and her favorite quote from Mary McLeod Bethune, “Invest in the human soul. Who knows, it might be a diamond in the rough,” led here to discover her purpose and duty in this world to trust God as God directs where and how she is to invest and transform lives.
Rev. Jones obtained her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Religion from Temple University. She continued her education by obtaining an M.S. from The New School in Nonprofit Management, a M.A. in Youth Ministry, and her MDiv from New York Theological Seminary.
Her Trust in God has also led her to invest in her community and church. Reverend Teneé has spent her career in youth development and education. Over the years she has worked in operations at various nonprofits and charter schools in the Brooklyn, Harlem and the South Bronx Area. In those positions she has served elementary to college age students. She has also volunteered with various organizations, like Younglife and New York Cares to transform the landscape of youth and their future. In the church space she has worked with the media, scholarship, and youth ministry. In addition, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, where she has served as chair of the Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta G.E.M.S. Program for teen girls. Over the course of her career she developed a mentoring program for high school girls and has provided book scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
While investing in her community and church, God called her to a higher platform, to preach and teach the word of God. She was licensed to preach the gospel in January of 2018 at St. Luke Baptist Church, under Rev. Dr. J. G. McCann, Sr. And in September of 2023 she was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In October of 2021 she married her husband, the Reverend Shaun Ellison Jones. And now serves alongside him in ministry as an associate minister and director of the Rising Stars Youth Ministry and Social Media at the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ossining, New York.
